Saturday...

Oh the weekend is here and I am happy to report that it is plus 4 degrees here today. It's not all fun and games yet for me today, I spent the day so far cleaning like Cinderella. But I'm proud to report that we are now finally done with our other apartment. I went there today and cleaned it all out, scrubbed it down and it's done. Finally. Such an example of laziness on my part to have let it go so long but oh well...Our place here is pretty much clean too. About as far as it's going to get for now...I'm bushed!

I'm so proud of Randy right now that I just have to brag! Randy and I went for dinner last night and ended up at a place that just re-opened with new management. We both ordered steak and when mine came it was blue rare. Not happening. So I asked the server to take it back and cook it a bit longer for me and asked her just to bring back my fries so I would have something to eat. I wasn't upset or anything, these things happen. So she comes back with my fries and apologizes and assures me that they are fixing it and it will be right back. Then this fellow comes by, I presume he is of the new management, and apologizes again and tells us that the whole meal is free because of it. We were shocked. To us, it wasn't that big of a deal. My steak came out, perfectly cooked with a HUGE salad on the side, it was great. Randy enjoyed his meal, the service was good, we had no complaints.

So when we were ready to go, Randy went up to the server and asked for our bill. She said "There is no charge, it's on the house" Randy insisted on paying and told her that we couldn't possibly take it for free, it was good, huge portions, they corrected the mistake... She kept insisting...So he dropped enough money on the counter for the bill and we left. I was so proud of him! We have been involved in the restaurant business for many years and could not, in good faith, take that meal for free! It was good. So many people would have just ran out the door, laughing all the way to the car but not him, he insisted on paying and did. I had a happy glow all night! To me that is a good show of character and so important!

Happy Saturday to you all! I'm hoping to have some pictures to post tomorrow, we are planning on going on a drive to sightsee tomorrow.
