~Spring Break 2012~

What a whirlwind break!  I didn’t even take any pictures other than the Easter ones!  We had a busy week unfortunately…I had planned for an easy week at home hanging with Ethan.  I ended up with multiple appointments that week…some personal ones for haircut etc but most were with the OBGYN for appts., bloodwork, ultrasound…I felt like I ran every day!  But we still had some fun!

I got to spend a couple of days doing almost sweet tweet all sitting on my butt playing online while Ethan watched TV or played around me.  I got most of the prep done for Ethan’s birthday party and got most of the invites out.  I printed out a whole whack of menu plans and got everything prepared to make them…just never got a chance to cook, LOL!

I found so many great ideas/recipes/gardening tips on Pinterest too!  What an addicting site!!!  Ethan and I made it to the park a couple of times and went swimming.  We ate lots of ice cream and broke every single schedule we could!  It was great!

On Thursday we took off for Edmonton and got to spend the weekend in Vegreville with Grandma Grounds.  On Friday we went to Edmonton and picked out all the tile for our kitchen backsplash and main bathroom shower stall and backsplash.  I’m so excited about our choices, I can’t wait to see it complete!!!

On Saturday I took off on my own and had a great day visiting with some friends.  I had breakfast with Chantel in the morning in Ft Saskatchewan and got some great book recommendations!  Then I hit the road for St. Albert and had a visit and lunch with Mike.  I whizzed into Edmonton after that and picked up Melissa and spent the rest of the day shopping!  I ended up deciding to spend the night in Edmonton because it was snowing like crazy and so I got a hotel room for Melissa and I.  We shopped until the malls all closed that day.  I finally found a rolling briefcase for work and also managed to get a new pair of runners and a new coat.  I didn’t have much I was looking for but I managed to get all on my list!

On Sunday morning Melissa headed for home and I decided to join Mike for church.  After church we went to Vi’s for Pies and had a really nice lunch.  I of course couldn’t resist the cakes there…so yummy!  So I picked out four different types to take back to Vegreville to share.  I did some birthday shopping for Ethan after lunch and then hit the road for Vegreville.  We had a quiet night and watched some movies and ate pizza.  It was nice to just chill out!

Monday morning we hit the road for home!  We had to make a few stops in Edmonton (had to pick up our tile!!!) and then took off for home.  We got home around 5pm and by the time the truck was unloaded we were all completely worn out.  We decided to eat out one last time and went to our favorite Thai restaurant for supper.  It was good but I really don’t remember much after that…I crashed at 9pm last night!

I kept Ethan home from school today but I’m heading for work this afternoon…I have to teach Orientation till 10pm for the next 2 nights.

It was nice to spend time with Randy and Ethan and see so many friends!  We are blessed to have such support in our lives that helps us to celebrate when things are good and give a solid hug when things aren’t the easiest.

~Family Day Weekend~

We had a fun weekend together this family day weekend.  We didn’t go out on the actual ‘family day’…I always find it too busy for me.  We went out on Sunday with our friends The Smiths’ to the Multiplex and played all afternoon and then followed it up with a yummy roast beef dinner complete with Yorkshire pudding, gravy and roasted veggies at our house.  The kids all had a blast playing together and the adults had fun too.  Again I have to say how grateful I am for the Multiplex facility!

Saturday we worked on the house and did some small renovation projects that I have been getting pushed off.  Randy put up some molding upstairs and in the bathroom in the basement.  He also built a countertop in the bathroom/laundry room.  We sat down this weekend and planned for our upcoming renovations this spring as well.  I’m so excited to get a new kitchen!  We’re also doing carpet in the basement, siding the house and replacing the last two windows upstairs.  Hopefully no unexpected expenses will come up and take away from our plan!  The goal is that by June we will have around 90% of the planned renovations complete, leaving the outside stuff for last.  I’ll be so glad to have all the work done and to be able to enjoy living in our house without a construction zone in areas!  Not to mention the added functionality that we will get once the plans are complete.  The kitchen is one huge thing but we’re also doing built-in cabinets in the basement and back entryway.  A home for toys downstairs and all the coats, shoes, etc that accumulate at the back entry.  That will be so awesome!

Anyhow the rest of our weekend we hung out at home and vegged.  We didn’t even get dressed on Monday…just played all day.  Ethan challenged us to a game of Go Fish…and won! The little bugger!  We played some Buckaroo, Thomas the train and he did lots and lots of puzzles.  Randy played his game and I read a couple books…it was a nice day!

I’m looking forward to planning a week off in April.  I think I’ll head down south to visit for part of it as I’m not coming down this summer for our vacation. This year if you want to see us in June or July you will need to come to the lake cause that’s where I plan on being!  Not that I’ve found a lake lot yet…the place we want to stay at isn’t getting back to us.  So I’m looking around the hopefully find a place I can book next month for the two months.  Our friends The Smiths’ are coming along too so I need to find two spots…crossing my fingers I can find a good one!

Anyhow, same old, same old for us around here.  Just plugging along, getting by!  Hope everyone enjoyed their Family Day!

~My Spa Day~

Oh how I love the spa!  Randy spoiled me for our Anniversary this year and got me a Gif Card to The Mirage Spa for a day of pampering.  You get shown to the changing room area and given a comfortable robe and sandals for your visit and a locker for your personal things.  I started out with a Pedicure.  They have the best chairs there.  It included all the normal things that a pedicure does plus a leg exfoliation and a paraffin wax treatment.  It took an hour and a half and was amazing…my toes look pretty good too!

Then I spent some time in the ‘Sanctuary’ and had lunch and some cucumber water.  It was nice to just relax.  I ran into a lady that had worked for me this spring for about 5 minutes before she quit so that was a little awkward but I just went along with it and was polite.  After lunch and a bit of a break I went for my nails.  I decided to upgrade the manicure to gel nails because I don’t really have any nails to manicure anyhow.  I was a gel nail virgin and didn’t know anything about it but my Aesthetician Stephanie walked me through the whole thing.  I’m not entirely sure I like the nails…they kind of look like chicklets to me…She said that since I don’t have much for natural nails that they will look a bit bulky…yeah, not liking it so much.

After my nails I got to take a small break again in the sanctuary before Tammy came to get me for my facial.  Now I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it on here or not but I LOVE a good facial!  One of my favourite spa treatments.  We discussed my skin and issues and a what treatment she would be doing.  I decided to upgrade my facial to a collagen treatment one as she told me it would help with hydration and evening out skin tone.  So for the next almost 2 hours I had the most AMAZING facial I’ve ever had.  I hardly knew she was there and even dozed off at one point I was so amazingly relaxed.  It included a seaweed back treatment and a hand massage as well…I left feeling like I had a new face and was so relaxed I felt like butter.

I have an appointment next Friday to get my hair done;  cut, color, highlights.  I found my hairdresser there that I had for the last 3 years.  She had left the salon I go to about 6 months ago and no one would tell me where she went.  I stumbled upon here there while booking my spa services.  I almost screamed like a little girl I was so excited!  I’ve got my Meghan back again!  We talked today about the color and cut we are doing next week and I can’t wait to get it done.  I haven’t had a decent cut since I last saw her.

Overall my experience today was a great one.  I feel so relaxed and re-energized and grateful to Randy for having the experience.  I’m planning on booking him a couple of things in the not so distant future as he could use a relaxing day as well.  I know that I will be taking advantage of some of their specials for myself too!  I wish I could go more often, darn that budget!

~Counting down the Days!~

While I love my job to bits…I need a freaking break!  It has been a horrid month of upsets and lots of hard work.  I have 10 days off coming up starting on the 22nd and I can’t wait!!!

Before that I have a long weekend off this weekend as well.  I’m glad for that because I’m going to be able to get some Spring cleaning and some painting done so that my basement is close to completion before all my company comes during my holidays.  I doubt at this point that the main area will be done before the holidays and I’m not sure if Randy will start it while we have Mom here.  I don’t want him sanding while Mom is here at all so he will probably just wait till after to get going on it.  We’re going to move the TV, Satellite and Wii upstairs for Mom’s visit so she doesn’t have to go up and down the stairs to watch TV.  She’ll sleep in Ethan’s new bed while she’s here and he can sleep either with us or in a playpen, we’ll see.  She’s coming down on the Saturday and staying through till the following Saturday.  It will be nice to have the company!!

During my holidays my little man turns 3…THREE!!!!  Holey crap!  Time flies I tell you!  So we are having two birthday parties for him this year.  It’s so close to Easter and Mom is going home on the 30th so we’ll have a family party on the 23rd and have an Easter dinner etc.  Then the Toy Story Pizza Planet Party will be on the following Saturday the 30th.  I’m so excited for his party this year!  He’s going to love it!  Wait till you see what the cake is this year…once again Randy and I are dusting off our decorating (or lack of) skills and making the little mans’ Birthday cake.  This year it is cupcakes for the friends party and a cake for the family party.  Both promise to be yummy!  I will share pics!

This weekend is our 11th Anniversary.  I can’t believe it’s been 11 years already!  I’m not sure if we have any plans, neither of us has talked about it, whoops!  Maybe Randy will surprise me…

Anyhow, looking forward to doing some blogging over the next few weeks while I have some down time as well.  As for now, must bolt, need to be to work in an hour and am still in my PJs!

~Loving Life These Days!!!~

I am loving the direction our life has been going the last couple of months, especially this month!  Ethan has had no problems for quite some time now (knock on wood) and I am settled into my new job and we’ve had a great flow of life.

It has been a slower pace since it has been cold outside but we’ve had lots of fun doing crafts, playing with cars in the basement and just hanging out with each other.

January will be a bit of a crazy month for me…we have a major shift of positions coming up mid month which means I will be working some overnight shifts, early mornings (4am start, Yikes!) and lots of weird evenings and weekends.  Then at the end of the month I head to Medicine Hat for a week…let me just point out that travelling from Grande Prairie to Medicine Hat is not a fun thing…it is like 12 hours of travel!  So we have two travel days on top of it!  They will be long work days too while I’m there; 7am starts till 6pm then supper from 6:30pm and we socialize until the wee hours of the morning…network, network!  You never know when one of these people will make a critical decision about something to do with me!

So since I’ve known that January is going to be so freaking tough on me I took some time on my holidays to downshift and have a break. We had a great time at home at our Mom’s house for Christmas but it was sure nice to come home on Tuesday!  Ethan and I hung out in our PJ’s on Wednesday and watched TV and played with all his new toys.  Yesterday and today I took him to daycare so he could play with his little buddies and I could have some me time.  It’s very rare that I take him to daycare when I’m not working but I know it’s important to have time to myself.  I always plan to come home and veg out but I end up going window (or otherwise, LOL) shopping in a tonne of different stores that I normally don’t make it into.  It’s nice for me to be able to browse without feeling like Ethan is bored stiff and so I don’t have to rush.  I love shopping slowly and looking at things…  I don’t think I could just come home and sit anyhow, the house would be far too quiet without Ethan here, LOL!

I’m looking forward to tomorrow;  we are heading out to our friends the Smiths’ house.  They live on an acreage about 45 minutes out of  Grande Prairie.  We are going to skidoo to the river just down from their house and take all the kids tobogganing on the hills there.  Leanne and Greg have taken their kids there for the last couple of years;  Ethan is just now big enough for it!  We are going to light a bonfire and make some hot chocolate and roast some hot dogs.  Thankfully it is only supposed to be –3 here tomorrow so it should be fairly comfortable to be out in.  It will be nice to get some fresh air too!  I’m really looking forward to it; I love tobogganing!   I hope I get some pictures too, I haven’t taken any for awhile.

That’s what we’re up to…like I said, it’s all good for us right now!  Hoping that it will be even better in about a year and a bit from now too…

~Mmmm Yummy Breakfast!~

Breakfast from a couple of weekends ago.  Got to love how easy it is to make this Breakfast Pizza.  The recipe came from a magazine but it is basically just puff pastry put in a casserole dish with a layer of cooked breakfast meat, onions, scrambled eggs and cheese.  Then you close it up leaving a small opening and bake it for 15 minutes, take it out and crack an egg in the opening and put it back for another 15 minutes until the egg is fully cooked.

What I love about this recipe is that you can personalize it to whatever flavors you like, sausage, bacon, ham, flavored cheeses, throw in some cooked veggies like mushrooms, onions, broccoli…you name it!  It’s basically a quiche but in yummy puff pastry!  It sure looks good too!

~Fathers Day~

Well we had a great, quiet Fathers’ Day around these parts.  I took the day off from work so that I could spend it at home with my boys.  I made Randy a HUGE breakfast of pancakes, sausages, eggs and toast.  He really enjoyed it and so did I!

While Daddy slept in, Ethan and I did some art for him in the morning.  We made him a card and colored the box his present came in.  Ethan loves coloring, he’s quite the artist, LOL!

For Fathers’ Day Ethan gave him a photo frame that he made at daycare and we got him the DVD collection ‘Life’.

Life

We watched a few episodes last night.  Such phenomenal photography in these series!  We are collecting all the BBC Earth shows, someday Ethan will learn so much from them!

For the rest of the day we did a little shopping for clothes for Ethan and Randy, then did some yard work while Ethan napped.  Supper was steak, baked potato, and asparagus with yummy red wine and chocolate cake for dessert.  MMmmmmm!

It was a fun day and we go lots done at the same time!  Hope all the other Fathers’ out there had a special day like Randy did!

~First Day at the Park Summer 2010!~

We finally had a nice day, not full of things to do that we spent at our favourite local park.  We are lucky to have several choices here in GP but we have one that is our favourite in the summer time.  O’Brein Park is next to the Wapiti River in a valley and outside the city.  It is fairly quiet with other families picnicking and having campfires.

We never have had a fire, someday we will!  For now we take down a couple of blankets, some toys, books and the camera and lounge around.  Well I should say, we USED to lounge around and read books.  Now we have an adventuresome two year old who will not sit still!  So we took turns walking around with Ethan discovering the sites and sounds.  We picked some pinecones (tried to eat them too, oops!), we poked at bark on trees, talked about the flowers and leaves and blew some bubbles to chase around.  Next time we won’t bother taking the books, LOL!

We took some fried chicken, potato salad and fruit with us to have a little picnic lunch.  Ethan had his own lunch.  He just wasn’t into eating chicken and potato salad.  After we ate and spent two hours chasing Ethan we packed everything in the truck and went for a walk.  We walked along the riverbank until we could walk down to an inlet in the river where the water goes around a little island and is a little calmer and cleaner.  Randy took Ethan in the water and at first he protested but then when he learnt that he could throw rocks and make splashes we were set!  He stood on the side of the water and threw rocks for at least an hour straight!  Squat, pick up rock, stand, throw rock, squat pick up rock, stand, throw rock…If I did that many squats I would have one tight butt!  Randy and I were both jealous of his ability to continually squat and get up!  He threw so many rocks that he diverted the water to go over his feet!

Much fun was had by all…here are the pictures!

Ethan off discovering on his own:

Favourite Pictures from the Day:

So fun was had by all!  It was 27 above and gorgeous all day.  Best part of it?  It was all free!

We might go again next weekend on Father’s Day because it is the River Rat Race and Ethan would love it!  It is a boat race of course, not rats, and Ethan had a hoot pointing at the boats as they went by yesterday.  We’ll see how the weather is and what our friends are up to, maybe we’ll go with them if they are going.

I know we’ll have many more lazy days like this over the summer, and I can’t wait!

23 May 2010

~Mmmm, mmmm good!~

I had Wednesday off this week and Ethan and I just enjoyed a quiet day at home.  I decided to do some baking for lunches and made a loaf of bread in my bread machine and then some dough for cinnamon buns.  Now let me preface this by saying that I have the worst luck with making dough in my bread machine.  Usually the dough comes out perfect but the end result is crap.  So this time I wasn’t really expecting much but I wanted to try anyhow.

So this was my end result:

IMG_5991_1745

They turned out so good!  They were almost all gone by the next day!  I think the key was that I let them rise for almost an hour before putting them in the oven.  I have really uneven heat in my oven so I always have to watch carefully…I sure didn’t mind watching these!

Just in case that wasn’t enough of a teaser…here are more pictures plus a picture of Ethan waiting for one for himself!

~Playing at the Park!!!~

YES!!! The weather cooperated and we were able to go to the park on Saturday after Ethan’s Birthday party.  Grandma, Daddy, Mommy, Ethan and Maggie (Grandma’s doggy) all went for a walk up the hill from our house to the park.  It was a little windy but for the most part nice out.

We played on the slide then just ran around the grassy area for about and hour and a half.  It was sooo much fun to watch Ethan play there!  Lots and lots of pictures of course…

Daddy and Ethan had fun going up and down the slide…then it was my turn!

What a fun day!!!  Can’t wait for more of these this summer!!!

~Lazy Day Off~

Well I had a nice relaxing day off today at home with Ethan.  We hung out this morning and watched TV and played online.  Then we went for a nap for an hour before lunch.  When we got up I did some laundry, chatted with a friend and had lunch.  We ran out and did some errands in the afternoon.

I’ve been finding so much inspiration on blogs for crafts lately that I just want to stay home and craft all day!  I have a couple of crafts on the go and can’t wait to post the pics and share…hopefully later this week!

Micheals has a great sale on their Spring Decor line right now and I couldn’t resist picking up a few things there this week.  I’m redoing my shelf in my living room since Easter is over with some new things to make it look pretty.  I got an apothecary jar for 50% off and now I just need to decide what to fill it with.  It is part of my shelf decor so I will share pics when it is all done!

So overall it’s been a quiet easy day at our house.  Nothing too exciting to report but that is okay with me!

6 March 2010

~To Do List~

Well what would a weekend off be without a to-do list?  I tell you, there is always a mile long list at our house of things to do.  We both work so much that there isn’t time everyday to do the little things!

So this weekends’ to do list looks like this:

  • Complete and File Taxes
  • Vacuum and Mop Floors
  • Clean Upstairs Bathrooms
  • Laundry
  • Move coat hooks to downstairs entry
  • Fix Filing cabinet (all my guts fell apart inside!!!)
  • File paperwork from eons ago because of broken file cabinet
  • Paint Bulletin Board frame
  • Put up Bulletin Board in Scrapbook room
  • Build drawers for Scrapbook room
  • Family Budget Meeting
  • Cut Randy and Ethan’s hair
  • Bring in clothing rack from garage to laundry room
  • Pick up toy from lady off of Kijjij
  • Watch Movie from Blockbuster
  • Return movies to Blockbuster
  • Grocery shop for week
  • Menu Plan for week
  • Bake for weeks lunches
  • Call Melissa for chat
  • Pick up remnants of snowman in back yard…
  • Go to Home Show at Evergreen Park
  • Watch the Oscars

As you can see it is an ambitious list.  I’ve crossed off the things I’ve gotten done today but there is a lot left for Sunday!  I’m not sure we’ll make it to the Home Show, Randy isn’t too crazy about going…but the rest of it we will probably get done.  Well probably not the stuff for my scrapbook room and all the filing…my scrapbook room is not terribly important right now and the filing is out of control…Anyhow, it’s nice to be able to get stuff done and feel like you’ve accomplished something!!!  But I always was a list kind of girl!!!

Edited to add:  Just came on to update, got a few things done on Sunday but prioritized and came up with this!

~Family Day FUN!!!~

We had a quiet Family Day around these parts.  After the excitement of the weekend, with the details to follow in a later post, we just didn’t feel up to going too crazy.  We had a nice big breakfast and hung out till 1pm.  Ethan went for his nap and I decided to take some time for myself and went out on my OWN, and went shopping.  So nice to not have to rush and worry about feeding, naps, changing a diaper….you know… worrying about the small child…

Anyhow, for two blissful hours I went about my merry little way and went to Jysk, Winners, Micheals, Liquidation World and Safeway.  I didn’t buy much, just mostly window shopped but it was fun.  I got most of the supplies for my wreath I am making and then a few decorations for the house and then some last little groceries we needed from Safeway.  Nice, peaceful, quiet.  Not very Family Dayish….so I felt a bit guilty about that, not for long though!  I earned that time!

Anyhow when I got home Ethan was up from his nap.  ( I think Randy said he woke up 10 minutes after I left, LOL!)  Anyhow we got him all dressed up in his winter gear and all went outside to play in the snow.  It was Ethans’ first time to play in the snow!  So we made snow angels, threw snow around and of course made a snowman!  So here are the pics of the fun time we had!!!

And here are some of my favorite shots of the little man out in the snow having fun!  Some may be repeats from above but whatever eh?

I’m so glad that the weather cooperated and it was nice, and dare I say, almost warm for us on Family Day?!?!  I can’t wait for more times like these!  Maybe next year when Ethan can eat better we might light up our Chimenea in the backyard and cook hot dogs and marshmallows.  The free fun is endless with snow and a warm winter day!

Anyhow, hope that all of my friends and family had a wonderful Family Day this year and made some great memories!  We sure did!

~ A Sunday at Home ~

It started out with cuddles from a certain handsome little devil at 7am…ahhh got to sleep in!  Then more cuddles on the couch while the coffee brewed.  We watched the morning news and then Randy made bacon & eggs for breakfast.  We cleaned up the house and got laundry etc done.  It is so nice having a clean house!!!

After all that we got dressed and went for groceries and returned library books.  Of course Ethan fell asleep in the shopping cart at Superstore.  Silly boy, missing out on the shopping!

This afternoon we just hung out and did some baking.  Randy made a chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow square, and I made banana bread.  The crock-pot cooked supper for us:  BBQ beef.  Mmmm mmm good!  We had coleslaw and baked fries with Epicure’s Pesto seasoning to go along with the beef on buns.

The crock-pot may have to be put down though.  I kind of sort of melted the whole dial on it tonight.  Oops!   Which sucks because I just bought it a year ago.  I am going to make sure that I buy one that has a timer on it this time though.  I am using my crock-pot so much now, it will be nice to have better control over the cooking times and temperatures.  So time to save my pennies and look for a good deal!  I don’t even know if I will be able to use mine at all again.  I think it is permanently stuck on low.  I suppose it is better then high though!

Anyhow.  Ethan went to bed early tonight.  I don’t think he’s feeling well because he’s been sleepy all day long.  We’ll see how the night goes…he was up a few times in the night last night.

Now I’m baking bread for lunches for this week and playing online while watching the Grammy’s and Randy is playing WOW.  Tigger is snoring beside me and having a good nap!  It is a nice quiet night!

This week is work until Thursday and then I may go to Slave Lake to do audits if the roads are good.  Then I will be back to work until Monday…and around and around we go!

I am so grateful to have had three days off to rest and relax.  I’m hoping to do it more often!  We have three days off together for Family Day weekend too!  I hope we can find something fun to do!

Anyhow, that’s what Sunday looked like around here, hope you all had a great weekend!

~Little Things That Make me Happy Today!~

Well I’m blogging today after being knocked out on some strong drugs and having a minor surgery so excuse me if I sound like I don’t make sense.  I’m blogging today because I received a complaint that I never blog anymore.  (Yes I mean you Mother)  So to appease the masses I am writing a little post today with some pictures!

So these are a few pictures of what made me happy this afternoon!

So we have Ethan in his new PJs from Christmas, I love these PJs, so nice a warm and soft and they glow in the dark too!!!  Then in the top left and bottom left picture you see Ethan’s push and ride toy with Elmo hanging on for dear life.  Ethan saw me stick him there one day and ever since then that is where the Elmo goes.  Its a giggling Elmo so every time they round a corner and he gets bumped he giggles or says Yahoooey!  It is freaking hilarious.  Carrying on, in the middle left picture is the Herald Tribune paper, my Friday tradition.  I pick up the paper and read all the relevant local news and upcoming events, read the careers section and go through all the flyers.  That’s what you will find me doing every Friday night!  Then in the top right picture is a picture of MY new PJs, comfy and soft flannel bottoms….so cozy!  Then underneath is my cup of Timmys that I’m enjoying tonight.  That one is self explanatory!  Then bottom right are my new shoes that I picked up from Purolator today!  New Naturalizer loafers for work!  I am so glad they are here because I’m sick of sore feet at work!!!

So that is what it looked like for us today!  I promise to get a post about Mom’s birthday party up real soon as well!  I’m off to get some sleep and hopefully I won’t feel so stoned in the morning!!!

~Sick Day and Upcoming Stuff in our Little World...~

Well I was home today sick with what turns out to be a cold, thank goodness and not the hiney flu, as my friend Jess calls it:) I had the most pounding headache yesterday all day and hot and cold sweats that I knew something was up. I woke up this morning with the headache still and a sore throat and running nose. Oh joy oh bliss. I ache in every part of my body like someone kicked the crap outta me too. I had called in to work last night so I didn't even have to worry about it today thank goodness. E is sick too, I'm sure he gave it to me, little turd! So we both just hung out all day in our jammies, played and cuddled on the couch.

Early this morning Ethan decided to flop down ontop of Tigger on the floor. Unfortunately for E, Tigger moved. Ethan did a full face plant on the hardwood floor from a standing position...There was much blood...he has yet another battle wound to add to his collection. Pretty soon I will have Children's Services knocking on my door because the kid looks like he's being beaten! He fell down the stairs twice at daycare this week so he has bruises and carpet burn all over him. I'm sure that his sinuses must be plugged too because he keeps running into everything and is so clumsy! Anyhow, he is fine, just has a HUGE fat lip and a nice set of teeth marks on his top lip...

We are already missing Daddy around these parts. This is a big house to be rattling around in all alone. But time will start flying now like crazy. I leave on Sunday to Calgary for training with Performalogics till Wednesday. I have dinner plans with my old staff from Calgary and my Mom is coming to Calgary to see me. I'm also going to hit up a mall to return my shoes I bought last weekend and hopefully find another pair that are more comfortable. The heels on them kill me! I didn't think there was much heel to them but there must be! I get to see Jess for the first time in ages and she's also taking me to IKEA. Yay! I will just be looking but that is so fun anyhow!!!

I get back on Wednesday and I work from 5-10pm that night. Then I work straight thru till Monday at Reitmans. On Friday the 20th I have an Epicure/Tupperware Party at my house for my friend Leanne, I have yet to send out an invitation...On Monday I head to High Prairie to do an audit there, audits on Tuesday morning before work, and Thursday before work. I work Reitmans straight through till Friday. So far I have nothing scheduled for work that day...follow that? LOL, I'm not sure I can!

In December I am not even sure how it is going yet, I may have to do all my audits twice...I have no idea how I would do that while working at Reitmans...But it will only happen once.

January will be slower I think, I plan on taking a week off in January when Randy gets home. I have to have some tests done to find out why I'm having such weird pains in my stomach. It's been going on for about a month now and the Doctor first thought it was an ulcer but he wants to investigate further. So I will be having an ultrasound and a camera study done on my whole tummy area. I told them that they had to wait till Randy was back before I would do the camera one because they have to put me under to do it. I've never been put under before so I'd rather have him around when they do it. So I will continue on with the pain until he's home...

Other than that we are just plugging along here in GP. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas and would love to have a week off to do some crafting! But I will sneak some in here and there.

No pictures today but a cute video is in the works of Ethan. Daddy has internet at NAIT so we want to share some fun times we are having here at home so he doesn't miss out on much while he's gone.

~Happy Halloween!~

Hope you all had a fun filled Halloween day!  We had a day of running errands and then home to get ready for trick and treaters!  Randy and Ethan carved a pumpkin while I made homemade pizza for supper.  It was a good night all around.

We dressed Ethan up in his costume and went out to a friends house to trick and treat there.  It was a quick but nice visit.  We had about 20 trick or treaters to our door tonight, I was rather surprised we had that many given the location of our house.  But it was so fun and I can’t wait to decorate more for it next year!

Since I’m sure you’ll want to see them here are the pics from our day!!!

Do you like Randy’s spider?  The internet is a wonderful thing…I downloaded a free template so he had something to follow.  We have decided that next year we are going all out with the pumpkin carving though…watch for that next year!

My little lion hated the paws of his costume and tried his hardest to pull them off…poor little guy!

~Flu Bug has Landed at our House!!!~

So last week Ethan came down with it, he vomited 7 times in like 3 hours at daycare so I ended up leaving work early and taking him home. He recovered quickly though and was back to his cheerful self right away.

Then it was my turn. It hit me on Wednesday night at bedtime. I managed to go to work Thursday afternoon but I sure felt like crap. Then on Friday I got up and could barely move...of course I had left my audits to the last day and had to go out and do them though...So I went out in the morning for a few hours and got them all done and then went home and died on my couch all afternoon. Then, the good assistant manager that I am, dragged myself to work that night at 5 until 9:30pm. Let's just say that it wasn't fun.

Fastforward to Saturday morning...I'm still not feeling 100%. Randy gets up and proceeds to spend the entire day between the bathroom and the bed. He got the worst of it I think! He was a total write off all day. Today he's still sick but not throwing up and etc and I'm still feeling like crap. This is a hanger oner of a flu! I can't eat anything yet I'm hungry as all get out. Everytime I eat I get so nauseated that I feel like I'll be sick. So I'm still debating on work tomorrow...but knowing me I'll just go in and tough it out.

I doubt Randy will make it to work tomorrow though, he's still so weak and shaky from dehydration that I don't think there is any way he'd be able to do his job.

Thankfully Ethan seems to be over it and totally unaffected by us being sick around him. We've had a fun weekend at home with him just playing and having lots of cuddle time.

It's raining now (again!) so I need to run and close windows up! I'm hoping for some good news later this week to post on here so keep posted!!!
