So we had to do a few things before the carpet could go in...we changed the windows in the two front rooms, which created a need to mud and tape the new drywall that was installed for that. We hired a friends uncle to come to do it for us, he did it the weekend after Thanksgiving. I started painting the small areas that needed to be touched up last weekend and of course while I was painting in Ethan's room the drywall mud came off on my roller...needless to say I was not impressed... So now I have to scrape all the mud off the wall and redo it, either he got bad mud or didn't let it dry well enough between coats...not sure which but its a mess! I also need to repair some holes in our master room that Randy didn't get the guy to repair before I can finish panting it...ugh
So what's still left to be completed before the Oct 30th install date?
-fix mud in Ethan's room and finish painting
-repair holes in our bedroom and finish painting
- repair holes in master bath and repaint
- empty out rooms upstairs and down
-remove old carpet and take to dump
-install tack strip in rooms that were not previously carpeted
It's not an enormous list, it's just very time consuming...Randy should be able to get started tomorrow night on the mudding. I fell outside today so I'm not sure I'll be much help for a few days, I'm pretty sore.
I can't wait till its done though... I'm sleeping in my living room right now and my house is a total disaster, I'm surprised my house cleaner hasn't quit on me!
Here's a sneak peek into my crazy life:

The weekend after the carpet is installed we'll be trimming the bedrooms out and finishing to trim the windows, installing blinds, new doors and touching up any paint that needs it. Then we'll re-set up the rooms and move back in...I can't wait!
Then we will be working on finishing up odds and ends in the main living area for a couple weekends and building some lockers for the back entry and redoing it. Towards the end of November is our 2nd Annual Rogers-Grounds Family Christmas Party so we want to get everything cleaned up for then.
After that we are nearing the finish line! We have the shower downstairs to finish and the master bath upstairs, some built in shelving for toys in the basement and the siding. The siding got postponed to Spring...it snowed here :).
I'm looking forward to living in a house that's not under Renos...we're at almost 3 years of Renos! We still plan on selling and building a new house but that won't be happening tomorrow! This house is looking amazing! I'm so proud of our accomplishments here!
But anyhow,as usual I'll post some pics of the rooms when the new carpet is in! Tatar for now from the land of messy, messy house!
