Not sure how to approach eating it the best way, I took to the socal network to solicit some advice. As usual facebook did not disappoint and I had several recommendations...from what to put on it, to which utensils work better to type of grapefruit.
I decided to try all the different toppings to see which one was best. I started out with a Red Rio grapefruit.

I split it in two...going across the middle, not from stem to bottom. According to Randy thats howto best keep it intact to eat it.

First I tried it with a tsp and a half of white sugar.

Then I tried honey.

And then I tried brown sugar.

So overall...I'm not doing cartwheels. My favorite topping was white sugar as it permeated the cells and went through all of them. The other 2 sat on top and didn't add much. My least favorite part was getting it out...there is virtually nothing to a grapefruit once you get past the cells. I think I will try the little cups where they are already cut up...way easier!
So short version of a potentially long story about grapefruit...they are better than I remember and I probably won't avoid them like the plague now.
