We are having a significantly better garden this year. It started out with a new plan for a garden, we built a raised bed in the back yard this year. It gets lots of light and is in an area that we really didn’t use. It is about 4x6 feet and just the perfect size for a little garden that will produce just enough for us to eat off.
We filled it with the best dirt this year that money can buy…we got all kinds of high quality fertilized garden soil from Home Depot for $2 a bag. We saved oodles of money and it’s paying off with a great crop!
I planted peas, 2 corn, carrots, radishes, beets, swiss chard, spinach, lettuce, and lots and lots of tomatoes! I can’t believe how well it is growing. Here are some pictures…
Also I lucked out and managed to pick up some great Perennials to add to my flowerbed. Check out these gorgeous Exotic Lilys!
They haven’t made it into my perennial bed yet as it has been raining non-stop here and they are a mud pit. But they look amazing and I’m hoping to have some time this week to get them in the ground so that they don’t die. Yay for gardening!!!
