~Dinosaurs~

We had a great visit this summer with our long time friends the Kreiszs'. Melissa and I have been friends since we were In grades 5 & 6. Now her youngest son is going into Grade 5 this year, WOW! It has become an annual thing heading there for part of our vacation....we just veg out, BBQ and have some laughs. This year I decided it was time to introduce Ethan to the dinosaurs in Drumheller. I knew he was too young to understand what it was about but just wanted to watch him see the Dinosaurs at this age in all their large glory...I wasn't disappointed! "Dinosaurs Mommy!!!" he squealed over and over. It was so fun watching him discover something so awesome at this age. We went to the hoodoos also and he had a blast climbing around there and sliding on his bum down the hills. We went twice to Drumheller, once with Melissa and both her boys and thats when we went to the hoodoos. The Royal Tyrell musuem was too busy and they told us to come back in a few hours but we decided to call it a day and headed back to Hanna. It was Canada Day weekend afterall and crazy with tourists. So on Monday Caleb, Ethan and I headed back to o to the museum. We spent about two hours going through and had a great time. Unfortunately half way through the museum my camera died...darn it! But I did get some nce pictures between the two days:

Ethan at the Tyrell with a huge fish mural, he just loved it!

Ethan playing at the Tyrell in the bumblebee room.

Ethan and Caleb with the T-Rex!!

How do you measure up to this guy? His leg was pretty tall, these two didn't even measure up tohalf way!

The boys found a little cave which Ethan thought was pretty cool.

They conquered a mountain! Well a little one at least!

Melissa with Ethan and Caleb. If you look in the background up the big hll is a blue spec...thats Tanner. He clmbed to the top of the hill in the background while we were there...little mountain goat!

Ethan with the Hoodoos. They've put in some nice stairs and rails now to help you get around at the hoodoos. You can no longer touch them either as they are starting to erode further.

The boys!

We made it to the hoodoos! They sure aren't as big as I remember them being as a kid!

A fun time was had by all! We are so lucky to live so close to such a world treasure! I can't wait to take Ethan there again as he gets older and we can learn all about it together! This time was for the fun of it, next time will be a great learning opportunity! If you've never been, you need to go!

Our time visiting Melissa and family has come to an end but we made some great memories and look forward to welcoming them at our house this fall if they can make it!
