We went this weekend to Dunvegan Gardens in Fairview, AB for our 2nd annual strawberry picking expedition. Unfortunately the strawberries were not very good this year and we gave up after getting just one ice cream pail full. We had hoped that they had some for sale in the store that we could buy to make up for the ones we didn’t pick since I want to make jam. No luck! They just didn’t produce well this year and came in very small. I’m hoping that means that they are sweeter and yummier in my jam!
We went to Maples Park for our picnic after we were done with the strawberry patch. It was very windy today and the dirt was getting to us so we didn’t hang out very long at Dunvegan gardens.

Maples Park is nice and enclosed in trees and helped to keep the wind away from us. We had a nice picnic lunch that I brought along from home. While we were eating who should pull up but Mary & Cole! Such a strange coincidence! We were an hour from home and at a very little known park. So strange! So anyhow they joined us and had their lunch while we finished up. We had some fun letting the boys run wild after they ate…translation…I just about went crazy chasing after Ethan trying to keep him off the road.
We got home around 4:30pm and Randy got right to work fixing stuff around the house. He took down the heater in the garage that didn’t work and then cut down the dead portion of the tree at the end of our driveway. I made us supper of grilled shrimp, rice and tortillas. Yummmo!!!
Want to see some pictures? Of course you do! Here are some from our day!
Pictures from the strawberry patch…you can see how small the plants were and the berries too…
Our picnic in Maples Park, how convenient that Mary and Cole arrived and were able to take pictures of our little picnic!
Fun times at the Park for the boys! They had Bear Paws and read a book with Mary, ran and played and cuddled! They had fun!
So that was today for us. Tomorrow we make strawberry jam with the spoils of our labour from today! I hope it turns out good!

I showed you where Maples Park is remember, because I thought it would be a great place for you and Randy to get married.
I know, I would like to but we are going to elope to the Dominican or Hawaii to get married...much easier that way!
