Well another week is started and back to the grind for Randy. Not sure if I've updated you all about the newest saga in Randys' work...He has a new fulltime job now as an apprentice Tinsmith with a local company. It's full time, Monday to Friday type job that will get busier throughout the winter with lots of OT but fairly easy hours in the summer. He will be learning how to install furnaces, air conditioners, run vents etc. One of our friends here has done it for almost 20 years and was able to get him in with his company. Randy had tried to get on there in March but they weren't hiring so he was lucky to get in. It is a small company and the owner is very nice and they all have fun at work. He's not driving pizza anymore because he couldn't guarantee when he would get there. But it's to our benefit really, he can spend lots of time with Ethan and I.
I've been working between 8-11 hours a week at Reitmans and enjoying being able to putz around and not be the boss. I have to admit that sometimes I want to just deal with things but it's not my responsibility. So I just zip my lip and do my work. They tried to convince me to come back on full time as an assistant manager last week but I laughed at them...there is no way I would give up my maternity leave and time at home with Ethan.
I was up early today, stayed up with Ethan from 5am, I've got lots on my to do list for the day and I work tonight from 6-10pm. A nap is in store for my later... I ordered tires for our SUV like a month ago and they had to be ordered and I still haven't heard about them so that's on my list to do. I really need to get new ones on before winter! Plus the parts for our SUV aren't in yet, they found out what was wrong with it in I think it was July and the parts have been backordered since then. It's starting to get a bit ridiculous.
I'm happy to report that I've been looking for a new cookware set for a few months now and last night I found a deal I couldn't pass up. I got a 10pce Henckel set for under $300, it was regular priced $800. Not really in the budget right now but I'm just going to book a few new mystery shops to pay for it.
Onto other news we have new tenants downstairs and they decided to start smoking in the house!!! I was sooo pissed off, this is a non-smoking house. I couldn't figure out why Ethan and I both started sneezing all the time...then one day when I was doing laundry downstairs I thought I smelled smoke. I brushed it off thinking it was coming from outside, then a few days later Randy was downstairs on his computer and he had to come upstairs because the smoke was too bad. So I called the landlord and she was going to deal with it. I don't think they got the point...they were smoking again last night. So I'm telling the landlord that it had better stop or we'll have to find a new place to live. They are smoking in their bathroom and turning on the fan, problem is that the bathroom is right under Ethan's bedroom and his room also has a air return vent. So the smoke just comes right up. I'm hoping that they go and we don't have to...I really like this house.
So what are your Thanksgiving plans? I think we'll be at Mary's on Monday for some type of dinner. I don't really feel like turkey but I'm guessing that we will have it anyhow. Then on Tuesday is the federal election! Mark your calendar and don't forget to vote!!! Not sure if any of you caught the leaders debate the other day, it was quite the show! It felt like a gang against one. I was smart enough to DVR it so I could fast forward the dry bits, LOL!
Anyhow I haven't been posting much lately...hoping to turn that around in the next bit. Hope everyone has a great week!
