~Good Frosty Saturday Morning!~
I'm enjoying my day off today at home alone. I've been tidying and organizing like a mad woman today. The calendar tells me that the end of the year is here so it's time to get ready for the tax season and all the paperwork that it brings. So I sat with my shredder nearby and took an hour to get control of my filing cabinet. I'm such a geek, I love my filing cabinet organized nicely. Bills, Debt Payments, Statements, Savings, Past years Taxes, Current Tax Year, Payslips and work info, Closed accounts, Medical Information, Hobbies, Large Purchase Receipts and Warranties.... oh it's enough to make me swoon!!! I LOVE my new filing cabinet, it's suits my anal, organized side... feel free to call if you ever want help, I love doing it, LOL!!!
I also need to start getting stuff organized so that it's easier to pack. Yup I said that dreaded four letter word...we are moving...again... This time it's only a couple of blocks though, LOL! The regional manager has approved for us to move into a 2 bedroom unit in a different building. I was hoping to just move across the hall when it was completed but they won't give us a fully renovated suite so we are moving to a different building. We are going to get some work done to it before we move though like new paint, countertops and plumbing fixtures. It is a really nice unit, a corner end unit with a neighbour on only one side and a whole lot larger than the one we are currently in. I'm certain that it will make life more bearable for us, it's been a bit stressful crammed into this tiny one bedroom. The only downfall of it is that it is on the 4th floor which will make it impossible for my Mom to visit. I'm also already having some sciatic pain so I'm concerned how I will get up and down the stairs in the coming months. It's a good thing I'm a fairly tough bird though, I'll make it work. As for Mom, I guess we'll just make something work out IF she manages to make it up for a visit.
The nesting instinct is kicking into full gear for me because now I have an actual room for the baby. I was sure getting stressed trying to figure out where we were going to put the little one. I went online to Sears and Toys R Us last night and picked out all the nursery furniture and baby stuff that we will need to buy. We are getting quite a few things handed down from friends and family to make it easier but there are a few things that we need/want to purchase on our own. Maxine, Randy's Mom, has offered to purchase some of the things we need so it won't completly blow our budget altogether. I really want a convertible crib that goes from crib to toddler bed to double bed. To me that makes the most cost effective sense, its' use extends to us for many years to come. I'm having a hard time choosing some stuff though, not knowing the sex of the baby... like bedding...can't exactly get a little princess set can I? So it will be basic white/beige until we know and then we can go crazy, LOL!
Well I'm going to get back to my homey day and get my baking done. I'm making an apple crisp, the Pioneer Womans' French Breakfast Puffs, a mountain herb bread and a roast beef plus sides... whew that sounds like alot! But I haven't cooked in weeks like that so I'm feeling the itch! Have a fun-filled weekend!
