~I'm Thankful Tonight~
I just got off the phone with my Mom, she just got home from Edmonton. My sister Christine had her surgery today to remove a cancerous tumor on her kidney. She was in from 7am till 3pm so they feared something had gone wrong but thankfully everything went very well! The Dr removed the tumore and part of her kidney and checked all her other organs out for cancer and found nothing. So she has no chemo, no radiation just has to go back for checkups every six months. We are all grateful that everything went so well.
I need to get my butt in gear and get in for the tests that the specialist ordered for me last month. I must admit I'm a little scared to go. Scared they will find something I don't want to know about. He is checking my kidney function and also checking for any signs of cancer given how prevalent it is in our family. So I'm chicken, I just don't want to know. Mom of course is pissed at me and told me to get it done. So I guess I will. I'll call tomorrow and make the appts.
I'm feeling much better tonight. I got up and still felt bad but I think it was just from getting sick and taking pills for headaches, nausea etc. So I slept on the couch for a couple of hours this morning and then walked to work at 1:30pm. I figured the fresh air and exercise would do me good. It didn't. But I stuck it out and came home at 5:30pm. We had spaghetti squash with meatsauce for supper followed by a yummy mini watermelon that I picked up for next to nothing last week. $2!! A steal of a deal! We're heading out to the pool in about 15 minutes. Our membership is up next week and I don't think we're renewing it in July. It's going to be busy and I don't think we'll make it enough to justify the money. So we're going to go to the park more and walk and stuff like that so that we still get in some exercise.
I started to make myself an new address book last night and got almost done but I realized I hadn't figured out a nice way to hold it all together. So I'm looking for ideas and almost tempted to send it to my friend Chantel to have it bound, LOL! But I'm sure I'll come up with something!
Anyhow, I'm out of here, gotta get ready for the pool!
