~Some New News~

We are pregnant again!  We didn’t wait in the end…we decided that it wasn’t worth it, we are ready and want baby to join us as soon as possible!  I wasn’t worried about not getting pregnant again, we have a pretty good track record, LOL!  I was not disappointed.  I think I was pregnant within 3 weeks of my miscarriage!

I had my first prenatal appointment with the specialist last week and she was shocked to see me there so soon but was thrilled for us.  (I REALLY like her, if you need a OB/GYN in GP ask to be referred to Dr. Cano) I go for my first Ultrasound on July 19th and see her the following week.  So far,so good.  I’m nervous as of course and am reading into every little thing but I know that whatever happens it is out of my control.  I had massive exhaustion and nausea for the last two weeks but this week the exhaustion has slipped away.  It makes me worry but I’m going to remain positive.

I’m guessing my due date will be right around the end of January, beginning of February.  I guess I will need to start thinking of fun things to do for winter birthdays, LOL!  I will probably go off work at Christmas and stay off, I had Ethan a month early so I want to have everything ready in case we have the same surprise!  We had planned to travel home for Christmas this year but I doubt it will happen now…I won’t want to travel for 8 hours when I’m 8 months pregnant!

I have almost lost my resolve to not learn what we are having…but I’m holding out!  We are praying for a little girl but a little boy will be a great playmate for Ethan so it’s a win-win whichever way it goes.

Anyhow I’ll keep you posted.  We’re so excited to be on this path again!

~EEK! I Did It!!!~

I just paid out $647 for Step 1 of my 5 year plan!  I’m a student again, taking the Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations from Athabasca University!  The first of 10 classes that I need to take to achieve this degree will be in the mail to me by next week.  I hope to have the degree complete within 2.5 years.  Then I will be going after my CHRP designation and others as I see necessary.  I’m so excited/nervous/scared about it!  EEEKKKK!!!

~Randy goes back to School~

It seems like just yesterday Randy was away at school but in reality it was 2 years ago already!!!  He is challenging a year which is why there is a gap but it is time for him to head back to school for his 3rd year…He called today and was lucky enough to get registered for his 3rd session for Sheetmetal Worker at NAIT in Edmonton.  He was very worried about getting in for his 3rd year…he is still finishing his 2nd and they have far less spots available for the 3rd session.  But he waited on hold for an hour and was able to get in!!!  He starts August 29th and goes for 10 weeks which puts him home before winter gets really set in.  This will enable him to come home on weekends more, or for us to go see him because the roads won’t be as bad yet.

It won’t be as hard on us financially this time because of course I make more now and our vehicle will be paid off before he goes away…the sad thing is that he will likely miss Ethan’s first day of school because it will probably be the same day that he starts in Edmonton.  I will of course take lots of pictures and send them to him but I know he’s sad about not being here for that big day.  The tricky with him being gone this time is that during that time period every year I usually have a couple of trips out of town to take with work and I won’t have anyone to watch Ethan.  So I will have to figure that out but thankfully we’ve made some friends here and I trust them to look after him if of course they can!  Otherwise I just don’t go on the trip and hopefully that isn’t an issue with my work.

When he gets back he will be that much closer to being a Journeyman which makes our family that much more secure…he can go anywhere with his ticket!  I’m proud of him for going after this and pushing through it, I know it can’t be easy to be away from home that long and to be back in school but he’s doing a great job and Ethan and I are very proud of him!

~No more Surgeries!!!~

We are so happy to let everyone know that Ethan will NOT be needing any further surgeries at this point.  He went through a camera scope of his esophagus and a dilation of his esophagus on Monday and when we spoke to the specialist afterwards he told us that everything is as good as it can be.  So it is a mixed result.  In one hand we are relieved because we won’t have to go back and forth to Edmonton and put Ethan through a series of procedures.  On the other hand, how he eats is as good as it will get.  So we will have to watch him eating and be careful at least until he gets a little older and gains some understanding.  He is already improving leaps and bounds from where he was and rarely chokes anymore.  He is learning already how to chew and swallow his food to make it easier to go down.  It also helps that he has a mouthful of teeth now too!  So we will just carry on and love up our little guy just as he is!

So we can carry on making plans for the summer now that we know that everything is alright.  So we are going to put Ethan into a Gymniks class and swimming lessons for next month.  He loves to tumble and jump so we thought he would love a gymnastics type class.  I’m so excited and now am looking forward to summertime and all the fun it will bring.
