~Dr Visit and Some Pics!~

So we went to see the neonatologist here today. He is a really nice guy and is the one that Ethan had while in the NICU here. I have a very hard time understanding him though because he has a heavy accent. Thank goodness for Randy! Anyhow, as far as the surgical repair goes, everything is fine. The stitch that we found sticking out of his incision is simply an interior dissolvable suture sticking out and it will eventually fall off. Yuck. Anyhow... He did notice that Ethan had some fluid around his 'boys' and its apparently very common. It occurs when they drop and the opening doesn't close fully and so fluid can come in. They say that within a year it should close and the fluid will be gone, if not they do a minor surgery to drain the fluid and close the hole. There is a slight chance of developing a hernia because of this so we are keeping our eyes peeled! Our poor little guy!

The rash that Ethan has is a 'Prickly Heat Rash' and we are to treat it with baby powder. That's easy. I can do that! It looks terrible and must be a little itchy cause little guy has been clawing his face and has left a bloody trail to prove it! I can't find scratch mitts anywhere though, not that I think that he would keep them on anyhow!

We moved Ethan to his own room today. Our bedroom was simply not comfortable for him...too cool during the day and too hot at night. We couldn't turn on lots of fans to cool it down because it would be too much for him so we were all miserable. Plus his room is closer to the main part of the house and so he can hear us and us him all day. He didn't like being way in the back bedroom all by himself!

Anyhow that is all that is new with Ethan...I managed to sneak out by myself for a couple of hours today, was that ever nice!!!
