~When life throws a curveball...

Sometimes you need to catch it and throw it right back. Even if it's really, really hard to do. Well we just hit another curve in our life. Randy has quit his job with Starbucks. The short story is that his District Manager was an asshole and was performance managing him out because they didn't get along. So on Thursday last week he quit. Gave them notice till Saturday and was done with the whole mess. He is happy with the decision. I took it a bit harder. I'm happy for him because it has been a monkey on his back for the last couple of months but a bit sad because of all the perks that we will lose out on. But life isn't all about the perks I guess.

SO that was the curveball. The big step of going on from there was him accepting a job with a guy we know from Grande Prairie. He'll be doing finishing carpentry for him. Only catch is that the job is in Fort Nelson, BC. So we'll now be living apart for awhile. He'll go in for a month and then home for a week. I can't say that I'm thrilled with the location but it was a good offer and Randy really wants to work for him. So he leaves this Saturday and I won't see him again for a month. So I'm sure there will be some whiny-ass posts from me for the next couple of weeks as I adjust to him being away. The job is a 13 month job and he's been working on it for a month. So this could be a year if it all goes well. Sucky.

On a happier note I got my parcel from the scrapbooking store the other day. This is what arrived!

It is a little machine that you can use to bind books. So I can make my own albums! Now I just have to figure out how it works, LOL! Hopefully Randy and I can play with it before he leaves so he can help me, if not I'll be calling you Chantel!!! My college buddy Chantel has one of these and has been tempting me with it for awhile now. SO the other day I thought what the hell! And bought one. It has to be the last of my impulse scrapping purchases for awhile! LOL! I need to get some motivation to actually sit down and create. Life provides much too many distractions eh?

We are off to Banff tomorrow for a day together. We have passes to go to the hot springs and then we just want to bum around Banff and see the sights, go for lunch and then come home again. Just a quick day trip! I ran out and bought a new battery for my new digital camera tonight cause we still haven't received ours that Sharen mailed from the States. It must be stuck at customs, LOL! So we got one and a charger from Best Buy so we can take some pics of our trip tomorrow. I have 30 days to return it so I'm hoping that I get my original one before then. It's not cheap! Cost around $140!

So keep your eyes peeled for some pics of our trip. I'll likely load them up to Flickr. If I haven't sent you and invitation just drop me an email and I'll hook you up!

Well I'm off to make some birthday cards for my staff, have a great day tomorrow!
